I wasn't promised days filled with sunshine
I wasn't promised I'd have no problems in this lifetime
I wasn't promised that everything would be alright
And I sure wasn't promised I never have to fight
I wasn't promised that life would be easy at all

I wasn't promised that I'd skip everyone of life's temptations
And I definitely wasn't promised there'd be no obstacles or situations
But I was promised that no matter what I go through

The end of everything I'd have to face
Because I was promised that I could run this race
I was promised that I'd never be left alone
To handle anything that comes on my own
I was promised the battles that come my way
Have already been won by Jesus this day
I've been promised that I can do all things through Christ
Who strengthens me and is the Giver of All Life
I've also been promised that I'll never be forgotten or forsaken
No matter what the situations looks like or how much my foundation is shaken
I was promised that before I was even born
That God chose me and created me in His imagine and form
I was promised that Jesus' love will never ever change
For me and toward me, it'll always remain the same
I've even been promised that my enemy is defeated
Because I'm a King's Kid and I'm also Heavenly seated
Now I know that I'll always look to the hills
From where my help comes from and it's not based on how I feel
But it's how Jesus took my hand and led me on
And I now promise in Him that I'll stand strong
For when all else around me began to fade and pass
I won't have to worry, what I do for Christ will last
Because I was promised that God would keep me in perfect peace
Whose mind is stayed on Him and for that my soul can be at ease
