Robbed Of A Flower

I can still remember so vividly and clearly
The face of my mother embroided in my memory
I can remember growing up in a huge household
Where discipline was a must and it never grew old
My mother's main concern was making sure
That each of us was warm, safe and secure
She was always there and she took out the time
To make sure things in our lives were fine
I can remember her sitting in the front row
Taking pictures of me at school in a show
Seems like she would be the loudest one to clap
Telling everyone, That's my daughter right there in the back"
When there were days that I'd be in fear
I always knew my mother was near
To tell me those things I needed to hear
I can even remember the handiwork of my mother when she sewed
Because she always made the prettiest clothes
My mother was proud, beautiful and strong
And in her there was nothing I could see wrong
She taught me about God and how to pray
She gave me the encouragement to stay in the race
If I could relive that day and moment again
I would do things differently so that my mother would be here
Now as I grow older I'm finally beginning to understand
That when God plucked my mother from the garden, it was part of His plan
But I miss my mother; I miss her so much
Her warmth, her beauty, her love and her touch
Not one day go by that I don't sigh
Wishing my mother was by my side
But I realized that God needed a special flower...at that particular hour
He needed a shining gem, a beautiful stone
He needed to call a Diamond home
My mother is never forgotten although she's gone
Yet her memory will continue to live on
In my life as long as I live
Because I was "Robbed Of A Flower" the garden had to give
